#AW80Books January Round – up

Sarah has read ‘Americanah’ (U.S.A and Nigeria) by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and I am currently reading ‘The Elephant Keepers Children’ (Denmark) by Peter Høeg and about to start ‘The Name of the Rose’ by Umberto Eco (Italy).
I don’t think I’ve ever read a book set in Italy (The Da Vinci code doesn’t count), and my only knowledge of this book comes from watching the film with my parents. I was about 25 at the time but I still had to pretend to have nodded off for an excruciating Christian Slater sex scene. That’s the beauty of books, no one’s dad has to make a corny, cringe-worthy joke and no one’s mum has to make tea for the family to be able to get through the steamy bits.
