That Pablo Picasso Really Knew How To Draw A Horse

I love how art influences and begets more art, whether that takes the form of an overture inspired by a fairytale or a novel inspired by a painting.

I discovered Pablo Picasso’s sketch of Don Quixote and his sidekick, Sancho Panza earlier this week and fell in love with its simplicity and sheer exuberance. Made in 1955, it was featured in the French weekly journal ‘Les Lettres Francaises’ to celebrate the 350th anniversary of the first part of Don Quixote’, and is extraordinary in its departure from Picasso’s previous works.
